L.O.L. Alumni Weekend During our Historic 100th Year!

There’s no better year than this year to finally give in to that voice in your head that says, “I’ve really been meaning to go back to Camp Alleghany one of these days!”

This summer’s celebratory season, Camp Alleghany’s 100th anniversary, is all about all of us — all the ‘Ghany Girls over all the years and all the decades who called this a home away from home for one or many summers. That’s why if you haven’t yet crossed the Barge to the “other side of the river” to revisit those stomping grounds, now is the absolute perfect time!

And just as everything else at camp will be special this upcoming camp season, our seventh annual L.O.L. Alumni Weekend will also hit it out of the ballpark with century-level labors of love and laughing out loud!!

Join Us!

Won’t you consider joining us? The weekend happens in the late Spring just before camp opens.

The dates June 9-12 will find alumni, spouses/partners, and other adults 18 or older, family members, and friends gathering beside the Greenbrier River for a time of fellowship, fun, and giving/work projects to prepare camp for this momentous season!

Sponsored by the Camp Alleghany Alumni Association (CAAA), in partnership with Camp Alleghany, this FREE sleepaway camp weekend will be the 7th season of Alumni gathering in our beloved camp space, living in tents, eating in the Dining Hall, swimming in the Greenbrier River, singing by the fire, and celebrating the success of “the camp we all love best!”

In previous L.O.L. Alumni Weekends our projects, completed by day, have included painting small buildings, planting flowers all around camp, power washing tennis courts, squaring tents, and making small repairs. Our primary goal is to enjoy time together in the mountains, laughing out loud, while giving back through our labors of love to this place which has given us so much! We’re motivated by knowing that our time together at L.O.L. will enable a new season of campers and counselors to be welcomed to a ‘Ghany that’s refreshed and ready for their memories to be made.

By night we enjoy our fellowship, treasure the sharing of memories, and are nourished once again by the hoots of owls, lapping of river water, gentle breezes, moonlight, and fresh air! Here’s a gallery of previous weekends:

The Weekend begins with arrivals to the Barge between 3 and 5pm either Thursday, June 9 or Friday, June 10. All departures will be after breakfast on Sunday, June 12. Please come and join us for this extraordinary launch to an exceptional summer of celebration at Camp Alleghany!

You do not need to be a member of CAAA to attend. Adults (18+) only. And we’re sorry, but we can’t accommodate pets.
