‘Ghany We Will Give 2026

Greetings camp families,

Spring has arrived, bringing warmer days and the promise of summer just around the corner. I find myself eagerly anticipating the start of camp season each year—and we cannot wait to return to the Greenbrier River!

This summer marks the 12th year of Ghany We Will Give, a meaningful tradition through which Camp Alleghany gives back to the Greenbrier County community in gratitude for its many years of hospitality. Since the program began, we have collected a wide range of essential items—from feminine hygiene products and canned goods to pet care supplies—benefiting local organizations such as the Family Refuge Center, Communities In Schools, and the Greenbrier Humane Society.

This year, we are excited to once again support a cause that we believe will resonate deeply with our campers. We are partnering with Greenbrier County Public Schools, specifically Lewisburg Elementary School. Earlier this year, a waterline break in their library resulted in the loss of nearly 90% of their books for grades 3–6. Knowing how much our girls love to read, we hope they will feel especially connected to this effort to help rebuild a space that inspires learning and imagination for other children.

As part of this summer’s initiative, we invite each family to bring one (or more!) new or gently used books appropriate for grades 3–6 to donate to Lewisburg Elementary’s library. Any additional books or those outside this age range will be shared with other elementary schools in Greenbrier County.

As a proud native of Lewisburg (and a former Lewisburg Elementary student), this project is especially close to my heart. There is truly no place I hold dearer than home. ‘Ghany We Will Give continues to make a meaningful impact in this community, and we are so grateful for your ongoing support.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions. Thank you, as always, for being such an important part of this tradition.

With much gratitude,

Laura K. Gorsuch
