Wow, what a week! Family Camp 2024 at Camp Alleghany was absolutely incredible, and we were so excited to see so many new faces join our camp family. Junior Camp was completely full, which added to the energy and fun all week long.
New Faces, New Friends
It was amazing to welcome so many new families to camp this year. Watching everyone settle in, make new friends, and dive into the activities was a joy. Our returning families brought their own special vibe, and it felt like one big, happy reunion.
Action-Packed Days
From sunup to sundown, there was something for everyone. Arts and Crafts saw a flurry of creativity, with kids and adults making some really cool projects. Swimming in the river was the place to be, with lots of splashing and laughter. Canoeing on the Greenbrier River offered peaceful moments and stunning views.
Pickleball games were super fun and full of friendly competition. At the Rifle and Shotgun ranges, campers of all ages tried their hand at hitting targets, with some impressive results! Our hiking trails provided beautiful scenery and a chance to explore the great outdoors.
For the early birds, Run Club was a fantastic way to kick off the day, with campers of all ages joining in. Those who preferred a slower pace enjoyed walking along the Greenbrier River Trail, soaking up the beauty of the area.
River Fun and Evening Magic
One of the highlights was definitely floating in the Greenbrier River. It was the perfect way to cool off and relax together. Evenings at camp were magical, with campfires, live music, and of course, our beloved Milk and Cookies nights.
Campfires were a time for sharing stories, roasting marshmallows, and enjoying the company of friends old and new. Live music added a festive touch, and there was plenty of dancing and singing under the stars.
Chill Activities
We also had some great options for relaxing and recharging. Yoga sessions helped everyone stretch out and find some zen. Fishing trips were a big hit, offering a peaceful break and the thrill of catching a fish.
A Week of Togetherness
Family Camp 2024 was all about coming together, making memories, and having a blast. It was wonderful to see families connecting, supporting each other, and enjoying all that Camp Alleghany has to offer.
As we said our goodbyes and packed up, there was already a buzz of excitement for next year. Family Camp isn’t just a week of fun—it’s a celebration of togetherness and the magic of camp life.
