What a special year to work at Camp. It’s our 100th anniversary! Working here means you get to be part of something special, something bigger than yourself, something bigger than all of us. You’ll be part of a legacy that has changed the lives of thousands, tens of thousands, of girls over the last century.
And you will change the lives of even more girls this summer. It’s the campers in your tent and the campers you teach in activities and the campers you meet at meals or on a walk to the Bathhouse. These are the girls who, years from now when they think back on their fondest camp memories, will think of their time with you at Camp Alleghany.
They will remember the time they sobbed and you cheered them up.
They’ll remember the time you pushed them a little harder and they accomplished their goal.
They’ll remember the time you took them out to look at the stars, but a sudden rain storm came out of nowhere, soaking you all.
They’ll remember the laughter, the jokes, the smiles, the accomplishments, the joys – all the memories you helped create.
They will look back on their summer with you along the banks of the Greenbrier River and realize how much they grew as a person and as a woman.
What an amazing opportunity, knowing you have the ability to create such a powerful impact! This is the opportunity so many young women have taken before you. They dedicated their summer to making an impact, to empowering young women who are now out in the world doing amazing things.
