Help Camp Alleghany Grow and Earn Tuition Credit Along the Way

Sometimes the very best way Camp Alleghany grows isn’t through ads or algorithms. It’s through real families sharing real experiences.

If your daughter or family member loves camp, you may already be talking about Alleghany more than you realize. This year, we’re simply making it easier, and more rewarding, to do just that.

Here’s the simple part

We have held a longstanding Refer-a-Friend program, where families can earn $200 off tuition for every new camper they refer to Camp Alleghany.

There’s no limit. One referral or five, it’s completely up to you.

If a family enrolls because of your recommendation, you earn the credit. That’s it.

What does “recruiting” actually look like?

It doesn’t have to be formal, awkward, or salesy. In fact, the best recruiting usually feels very natural.

Option 1: One conversation at a time

This might be:

  • a chat on the sidelines of a soccer game
  • a text to a friend who’s starting to think about summer
  • a coffee, lunch, or walk-and-talk with another parent

A single conversation counts just as much as anything else.

To make this even easier, we’ve created a simple, shareable graphic you can use to start the conversation. Email me to get the downloadable graphic to text to friends or post on social media! No writing required.

Option 2: Share with a group you’re already part of

You might already be connected to families who would be a great fit for Alleghany:

  • a parents’ email or text thread
  • a local moms or parents Facebook group
  • a school or community group

Sharing the graphic along with a short note about your daughter’s experience, and offering to answer questions, can be a wonderful, low-pressure way to spread the word.

Option 3: Host a gathering and earn extra credit

If you enjoy gathering people and want to take things a step further, hosting can be a great option.

Families who host a gathering will earn an additional $200 tuition credit just for hosting, regardless of how many campers attend or enroll.

Hosting can look like many things:

  • a casual gathering in your home
  • meeting at a coffee shop or ice cream spot
  • a short get-together after school or on a weekend
  • even a Zoom gathering for busy families or friends who don’t live nearby

If you are interested in hosting, please contact me. Our goal is to pair you with a local Camp Alleghany staff member who can help answer questions and talk all things ‘Ghany, and to provide you with any materials, information, or support you may need.

Need ideas? Keep it simple.

If hosting sounds appealing but you’re not sure what it would look like, here are a few easy ideas. None of these are required.

Often, those informal moments are the most meaningful part!

A quick reassurance

There is no expectation that every family will host a gathering, and there is no “right” way to participate. One thoughtful conversation with one family matters just as much as a larger event.

And if you have questions, want ideas, or are curious what might work best for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you for sharing what you love

Camp Alleghany has always grown best through families who believe in it and talk about it naturally. We’re grateful for every conversation, every connection, and every family who helps welcome others into the Alleghany community.

If you’re interested in referring a family, using the shareable graphic, or hosting a gathering, please contact me. I’d love to help you get started.
