From the moment they arrive, each girl has the opportunity to explore our diverse range of activities. Whether it’s Archery, Arts and Crafts, Drama, or Swimming, the choice is hers. This autonomy fosters a sense of ownership over her camp experience and teaches her the importance of making thoughtful decisions.
Embracing Free Time
Beyond scheduled activities, we prioritize unstructured time, allowing our campers to decide how they wish to spend their days. This free time might find them playing tetherball, reading in a hammock, visiting the camp store, taking a shower, or enjoying a refreshing dip in the river during Free Swim. This freedom is essential as it mirrors real-life scenarios where they must manage their time and make choices that reflect their interests and needs.
Learning Through Experience
Before arriving at Alleghany, our campers are encouraged to develop practical skills such as making their beds, managing personal hygiene, and organizing their belongings.
