Cheerio But Be Back Soon- Goodbye Second Term 2024

As the sun sets over the beautiful hills of Greenbrier County, we find ourselves at a turning point. Second Term has come to an end, and it’s time to say goodbye to our amazing Term Campers, LITs, and Counselors. But as we bid them farewell, we’re also gearing up to welcome families for Family Camp, ready to create some more Ghany magic.

Highlights from Second Term: Fun, Growth, and Friendship

This term has been nothing short of awesome. From the moment our campers arrived, their excitement was contagious. We’ve seen them grow, face challenges head-on, and build lifelong friendships. Each day was a new adventure, whether it was mastering archery, diving into arts and crafts, or canoeing down the Greenbrier.

What really stood out this term was the way our campers supported each other. The spirit of honor, loyalty, and friendship was everywhere—cheering each other on during Blue/Gray competitions, helping eachother, and sharing stories and laughs. These moments of togetherness are what make Camp Alleghany so special.

Milestones and Memories

We had some unforgettable moments this term. From our wonderful Wilderness Progression Meal Hikes and Overnights, to Christmas in July Carnival Second Term was packed full of new experiences and memories. And the final campfire, Candlelight Campfire, was pure magic, with stories and songs echoing under the stars, creating memories that we’ll all cherish.

These experiences aren’t just fun—they help our campers grow into confident, resilient young women, ready to take on the world.

Family Camp: A New Adventure

Now, as we wrap up second term, we’re getting ready for Family Camp. This is a special time for families to experience the magic of Alleghany together. Parents will get to see the camp through their kids’ eyes and join in the fun.

Family Camp is the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. From peaceful hikes and river swims to games and live music, there’s something for everyone. It’s a chance to unplug from the daily grind and reconnect with each other in the beautiful West Virginia landscape.

Looking Forward with Gratitude and Excitement

As we shift from second term to Family Camp, we’re filled with gratitude. To our campers, thank you for bringing your energy, enthusiasm, and spirit to Camp Alleghany. You’ve made this place and each other’s lives richer. To our families, we can’t wait to welcome you and share the joy of Alleghany with you.
