Summer 2025 is fast approaching, and spots at Camp Alleghany are filling up quickly! Now is the perfect time to consider registering your daughter for an unforgettable summer experience. We understand that for new families, deciding on camp can feel like a big leap. That’s why we’re committed to giving you all the information you need ahead of time to make the best decision. One of the best ways to get to know us better is by attending one of our Fall Virtual Open Houses!

Meet Us, Virtually

This fall, we’re excited to offer two Virtual Open Houses, hosted via Zoom, where you can learn more about Alleghany and meet our team. These events are always lively and informative, and you’ll have the chance to interact with some of our staff and current campers. Whether you’re a parent or camper, this is a wonderful opportunity to get an inside look at what makes Alleghany so special.

You’ll meet a few of our directors, medical staff, current counselors, and even hear directly from campers who’ve experienced the magic of Alleghany themselves. At the end of each session, we’ll open it up for questions, allowing you to get personalized answers from the team and connect with other attendees.

Who Can Join?

These Open Houses are for everyone! Whether you’re still considering Alleghany, have already registered but haven’t yet attended, or you’re a returning camper looking to reconnect, we welcome you! Both parents and campers are encouraged to join in on the conversation.

When Are the Virtual Open Houses?

Mark your calendars! Our Fall Virtual Open House sessions are scheduled for:

  • Tuesday, November 7th at 7 p.m. (EST) – A focus on our Term Camp sessions.
  • Tuesday, November 14th at 7 p.m. (EST) – A second session for Term Camp.

Elizabeth Shreckhise

Elizabeth is the Director of Camp Alleghany for Girls, the third generation member in her family to hold this position. But she also spent her childhood (ages 7-16) as 'Ghany camper, then held various counselor positions, and spent a decade here as the Assistant Director. She has a Masters in Education and Human Development and is a former School Counselor. Elizabeth lives in Staunton, Virginia during the "off-season" with her husband Matt and sons Mason, Ellis, and Noah. In addition to staffing, enrollment, program planning, outreach, and camp management duties, she helps keep the website current, writes and updates camp literature, and oversees the blog.
