Visiting Alleghany

Alleghany's Parent Visitation Policy

Camp Alleghany doesn’t host a Parent Visitation Day during camp. We welcome you for Opening and Closing Days to see our facilities, meet staff, and see your camper’s tent and tentmates.

Alleghany’s Alumni Visitation Policy

All loyal and well-intentioned alums are welcome to visit Alleghany. Please contact us before visiting. Alumnae wishing to visit current Alleghany staff members may do so during those staff members’ scheduled time off ONLY. Alumnae wishing to attend the Junior Counselor Initiation held during 1st Term must be relatives of a current JC and must contact the directors ahead of time to request to come in to camp. Alumnae wishing to visit during Family Camp must contact the directors before coming. Family Camp visitors may come into camp at 10am, 12pm, 3pm, or 5pm. We request that you do not stay for meals, as the food is prepared only for the number of paying guests in camp. Alumnae (and all visitors) under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent. Inclement Weather and the River

If there is thunder or lightening at the time of your arrival at camp, we are not permitted to bring you across the river until it has subsided. This is an American Camp Association regulation that we are required to enforce for your safety.
