How to Get Started
Of course, the easiest way to recruit new campers is by spreading the word to your immediate friends and family. But why stop there? You can also consider hosting a gathering to introduce other families to Camp Alleghany in a more personalized way.
- Choosing Your Venue
The location of your event is entirely up to you. You could host it at home for a cozy vibe or choose a local spot like a neighborhood clubhouse, coffee shop, restaurant, or ice cream parlor. The key is finding a space where everyone feels comfortable and can connect. - Adding a Personal Touch
Some families enjoy adding camp-themed decorations to set the tone. You might display your camper’s patch pillow, camp photos, or Alleghany swag to bring the spirit of camp to life. For a more interactive element, show prospective families our camp videos on a larger screen or even on a tablet for smaller gatherings. These visuals offer a great glimpse into camp life and will help new families imagine the experience.

The Fine Print: Earn Tuition Credits
There are two ways to earn credits through the Refer-a-Friend program:
- Refer-a-Friend Credit
For every new camper you recruit who completes a full session, you’ll receive $200 off your camper’s tuition. Be sure the family lists your name on their registration form as the person who referred them. - Hosting Credit
If you host an event or gathering to share Camp Alleghany with others, you’ll earn an additional $200 credit just for organizing it. This excludes one-on-one meetups like coffee dates or phone calls but includes events at your home or a public venue.
