I Remember First Term 2023
Wow, we cannot believe that First Term is over! I have so enjoyed getting to know each and every one of our First Term Campers and seeing them grow, reach their goals, and make new friends. The memories they have made this summer will be with them for a lifetime and I am so honored to be even a small part of those memories. I hope Alleghany has touched their hearts as much as they have touched our hearts.
Each term our Head Counselors and Unit Heads get together to create what we call “I Remembers” for each of their camps (Junior and Senior) They present them at our last Campfire of the term, Babies Boats, along with a song they made up about the summer. This year I would like to share these memories with you…

Junior Camp Babies Boats Song
to the tune of “22” by Taylor Swift
“It feels like a perfect night to get dressed in our colors
And have in with our best friends ah-ah, ah-ah
It feels like a perfect night for milk and cookies
TO fall in love with camp ah-ah, ah-ah
Yeah, we’re happy, free, and having fun at the same time
It’s magical and wonderful, Oh yeah
Tonight’s the night when is forget about the bedtimes
It’s time, oh-oh
I don’t know about you, but we love Junior camp
Everything will be alright if you keep us next to you
We don’t know about you, but we’ll be back next year
Everything will be alright if we Just keep coming back to Junior camp, Junior camp
It seems like one of those nights, this place is so crowded too many barnyards ah-ah,
ah-ah
It seems like one of those nights, we’re having so much fun We end up talking, instead of sleeping
Yeah, we’re happy, free, and having fun at the same time
It’s magical and wonderful, oh yeah
Tonight’s the night when we forget about the bedtimes
It’s time, oh-oh
(Hey) I don’t know about you, but we love junior camp
Everything will be alright if you keep us next to you
We don’t know about you, but we’ll be back next year
Everything will be alright if we just keep coming back to, Junior Camp, Junior Camp”

Senior Camp Babies Boats Song
To the tune of “Enchanted” by Taylor Swift
Here we are in Scamp again, staying up til 10 pm, Open Mic Night, Dance Parties, Tennis courts, Tetherball,
with some broken bathroom stalls, milk & cookies every night,
Hey, senior Camp it was, enchanting to meet you.
Your eyes whispered, “Have we met?”
Across the barge your silhouette
Making your way to your tent
Mixing Midways & Upstarts,
Counselors start to earn your hearts
through friendship & loyalty
Senior Camp it was enchanting to meet you
(brief interlude)
We’ll always say it was enchanting to meet you
Senior Camp’s special, don’t you let it go,
We’re wonderstruck watching how you’ve all grown
Camp’s not forever, but I hope you know,
We were enchanted to meet you.
The constant es question on our mind.
Are the LITs alive?
They’re never even at our camp
Shooting 40s, upstart class,
Everyone’s in Arts & Crafts
You’re working hard every day
Senior camp ft was enchanting to meet you
We’ll always say it was enchanting to meet you.
Senior Camp’s special, don’t you let it go,
We’re wonderstruck watching how you’ve all grown
Camp’s not forever, but I hope you know,
We were enchanted to meet you.”
The Summer Goes On
Just like that, Second Term begins as First Term ends, we will miss all of our First Termers dearly but cannot wait for Second Term to get going so we can create even more memories. We hope to see our First Termers back at Alleghany next summer, Cheerio but be back soon!
