Help Wanted: Leadership Program Coordinator

Have a passion for cultivating the unique voices of young girls and women? This short-term camp position may be perfect for you!

February 15, 2021 By Elizabeth Shreckhise

We’re hiring a Leadership Program Coordinator for Summer 2021. This is a 4-month position (May-August), that reports directly to myself and our Program Director Casey Tucker.

This is a perfect job for someone who has already been a Head Counselor at Alleghany, or who has ‘Ghany experience and is in the professional world now especially as a teacher who might want to have a supplemental summer job.

This temporary, seasonal position, which, in the right fit, could potentially be recurrent each year, would also be good for someone transitioning jobs, or someone not currently working, such as a stay-at-home mom.

You don’t have to commit to a long term recurrent situation, it’s just a potential option.

Role and Duties

This leadership role at camp is directly responsible for cultivating other leadership roles across multiple programming areas at camp. In this sense, you act as a mentor and guide to emerging leadership counselors. At the same time, you’ll help to craft leadership elements within our age-cohort program areas — the Start-ups, Midways, Upstarts, Leaders-In-Training, and Junior Counselors.

If you have a passion for cultivating the unique voices of young girls and women, and providing direction, creative ideas, and superior role modeling, while also being organized, professional, and collaborative, this short-term camp position may be perfect for you.

While we’d love to have a former ‘Ghany camper and/or counselor apply for this job, we remain open to applications from someone with the skills, experience, passion, and interest in this position.

All interested persons should please read the full and detailed job description and begin your application with an e-mail to me.

Also please feel free to share this with anyone you think might be interested or a great fit for the job!

She has a Masters in Education and Human Development and is a former School Counselor.
