Hello, dear readers!
The other day, during my time off I decided, along with two other NCCCs (Hannah and Leah) to explore the beautiful grounds around the Greenbrier River by foot. However, what was supposed to be a run turned in to somewhat of an adventure!
From jogging along the Greenbrier River Trail, to “walking” across the river, with shoes held above our heads as the water lapped at our necks (I think the girls had forgotten I’m only 5 ft 1”), our eventful expedition provided many laughs and kept us constantly smiling. It reminded me of just how lucky I am to be working at such a wonderful camp, with majestic scenery and a stunning mountainous backdrop.
I fear that such things as trees on the mountain and the stars in the sky are at risk of being overlooked or taken for granted, despite the fact that they are the spectacular setting for the fun and prosperous world that is Camp Alleghany. So next time you’re on this side of the woods, take a look around and inhale the true beauty that surrounds Camp Alleghany.
