It’s that time of year again, the time when forward-thinking parents project into next summer to plan for their child’s camp experience. That means we open up camp registration for you so you can solidify your plans.
Beginning October 1, 2017 and going until midnight on December 1, 2017 we’re running our Early Bird Registration rate and this year it’s not just for Term Camp — we’re including Mini Camp in the bargain!
In the past, due to Mini Camp being one short week, we weren’t able to offer an Early Bird price for this introductory taste to the camp experience. But we crunched some numbers and reexamined what we could do and now voilà — Mini Camp registrants can get a price break too if they register during the Early Bird window.
So early birds, get that worm!
(And p.s. on that front, here’s our 2018 dates and rates so that you can look at your schedule for further coordination.)
Secure Your Camper’s Space
And for those who don’t already know, we did have an even earlier registration — the one we offer to all camp families at the end of this past summer’s camp sessions. That allowed current camp families to commit to camp already, put down their deposits, and guarantee their camper’s spot. I share this to let you know that we’ve actually already got a significant number of campers signed up for #Summer2018.
But there’s still time to get a space.
For those not yet signed up, your best opportunity is here with Early Bird Registration. Not only do you get a discounted price, but you get your child’s space, sew up your summer plans, and put your mind at ease.
My best advice to secure your camper’s spot is to set a smart calendar alert (or however you keep on top of your schedule) so that as soon as Early Bird opens up — at midnight (as in super early in the dark morning) of October 1 — you can register, register, register! 🙂
Well, you only need to register once — ;0 — unless you have more than one camper. And then there’s another bargain — our sibling discount of $200 per second and third and fourth sibling camper, etc.
Camp as a Gift
Stretching education, leisure, and “experiences” dollars isn’t always easy. So I also want to remind families that camp makes such a great holiday or birthday present.
Accompanied by some little (or big) camp accessory, like a Crazy Creek Chair, a ‘Ghany tee, a new headlamp or sleeping bag, or even a simple mug, the child has something to open and with it she gets a gift certificate to attend ‘Ghany next summer. This can help stretch your camp investment dollars into something special all-around — a summer at camp, and a great gift, too!
Another way to potentially reduce your camp costs and introduce another lucky girl to the Camp Alleghany for Girls world is to refer-a-friend. If that friend lists YOU on their registration as their referral to camp when they register then you get $200 off of your camper’s tuition. And we set no limit on this, so refer away! Here’s a previous blog with all the details about Refer-A-Friend.
You can also download my FREE e-book, 3 Reasons to Begin Your Child’s Sleepaway Summer Camp Experience Early. It’s a great resource to share with friends, or if you are a first-time camp family and you wonder what sleepaway camp would be like for your daughter.
Ice Cream Socials
During the upcoming enrollment season we’ll be doing a series of Ice Cream Socials at area locations in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia (and possibly some more areas, too!). These events are an opportunity for your child to come out and get a free tee shirt if she is already registered. And if she brings a friend to learn about camp (while both enjoy an ice cream on us), both she and that friend will get a little gift token, too.
Our Ice Cream Socials are a great way to build your Refer-A-Friend goals, too. So watch this blog space and our social media channels — Facebook | Instagram | Twitter | Pinterest — for alerts on those special events as well as on others, like winter reunions, alumni gatherings, and sometimes even camp interest parties in private homes.
If you have any questions about the offers above, or about your own child’s next steps at ‘Ghany (if she’ll be doing something new and different when she returns to camp, or any needs she may have), please don’t hesitate to reach out to me via e-mail or by phone: 540.490.0128. I would LOVE to talk to you about #Summer2018 at Camp Alleghany for Girls!
So remember — set that calendar alert for October 1, 2017 and plan to register your daughter that day for the best price, and a guaranteed spot at camp!
I’m looking forward to working with all camp families, old and new, during the upcoming year as we move toward another great summer at ‘Ghany!
