By now we hope everyone is joyfully tucked in from a busy year and settled down into a holiday season with family and friends that is less about frantic bustling and more about simple pleasures and loving enjoyment.
Christmas in July
Of course, it’s the third Christmas of the year for Camp Alleghany! Our second termers will remember the wackiness that is our annual Christmas in July!
Just check out our fund photo of the parade right there!
Hey, I’ve got an idea for those planning to come back as campers or on staff for summer 2015: while Christmas unfolds all around you this year, start hatching ideas for fun decor and dress up and activities for next summer’s Christmas in July!
Our second term campers and staff will also have a candle that they (hopefully) saved from Candlelight Campfire. When we’re lighting the candles, we always remind everyone to light it again at Christmas to remember camp. (There’s a blog coming on this on Christmas Eve by alum and current staff member Chloë Cook so tune into the blog this Wednesday to read it for great memories.)
Mini Campers Christmas countdown
And we could never forget our Mini Campers. Exactly six months from Christmas Day we’ll be smack dab in the middle of Mini Camp 2015, which means that on Christmas Day around the Camp Alleghany crew, we’ll be thinking fondly about the littlest campers in our life. And we hope our Mini Campers will be counting down to camp, too!
To all a good night!
For everyone in the Camp Alleghany extended family — alum, staff, campers, family, friends, vendors, supporters, Green Teamers, our service partners in every field both on-site, in Lewisburg, or in various fields across the country, we wish the best and brightest and merriest Christmas ever!
Thank you for being our friends and working with us. Enjoy your holiday season and stay safe!
