When I was at Camp Alleghany: 1996-2003
Activities I’ve done at camp: Rifle, Arts & Crafts, Wild World, Dance
Colors: Gray & Junior Counselor Purple
My favorite tradition: Baby’s Boats, and the dinner prayer songs.
Impact of camp on my life: Simplicity and appreciation of all things, big or small. I now look back, and from Unit 3 to being a Junior Counselor, I learned how to be myself, love myself, and love others all while realizing what is important in life. At camp, a letter can make your day, you realize the true meaning of friendship and family. From shooting my expert level in Rifle to making a pillow, all skills were what formed me and taught me to persevere, be patient, and also be mindful and congratulate others.
