Where I live: Nelsonville, OH
When I was at Camp Alleghany: 20013-Present
Activities I’ve done at camp: Rifle, Canoeing, Swimming, Drama, Arts & Crafts
My favorite tradition: It is so hard to pick just one thing! My first year I did Second Term and I loved the end of summer Banquet and remembering crying and thinking how much I was going to miss being there. Because of my school calendar I can only come to First Term now and have learned to love all traditions — like the Fourth of July celebration. I also have a great time with the Blue/Gray rivalry (Gray team rules!).
Impact of camp on my life: Camp Alleghany is very special to me. I have learned to love those weeks away from home and my normal routine; a time to reacquaint myself with camp friends and disconnect from electronics and social media. I have learned how to appreciate “moments” by being a ‘Ghany Girl: to appreciate the time along the Greenbrier River with a great group of girls and to relax and let the outside world and worries escape for a few weeks. have been able to take on more leadership roles.
